Why use Dwarf Wall

The dwarf wall system is unique in that it uses a series of mechanical locks to fasten the bricks to the backing board and frame.  Other dwarf wall frames have brick veneers ( slips ) bonded to the face of them using a contact adhesive of one form or another.  Eventually most such adhesives, when subjected to the elements, will degrade, resulting in loose or falling tiles.  Using a galvanised steel gauging mesh, the bricks are mechanically locked to the panel in two ways.  Firstly, the adhesive applied to the back of the brick veneer "locks" around the mesh.  Secondly, the veneers are seated onto a horizontal steel section that aligns the brick veneers .  When the pointing mortar is applied it "locks" around this bar and provides a second mechanical bond to the panel

Other factory made systems offering brick clad dwarf walls will supply the walls to site pre-clad in brick veneer.  This presents a series of problems, which we fully  understand because we were the original company to supply factory made dwarf walls for conservatories.

When the brick veneer is applied to the wall frame in the factory a series of possible dangers are provided.  The brick finish, which is usually 20mm thick or less, can be damaged in transit, and also damaged during installation.  If the brick veneer arrives on site intact, then tiles have to be inserted over the panel joints once the frame is installed in order to provide a continuous finish.

The problem with this system is that the mortar used to point around the "bridging" tiles usually ends up a different colour to the factory applied mortar.   This is due, usually, to a different consistency of the mortar or the humidity in the air being different from that under factory conditions.  The result is that, when dry, anyone can see where the bridging tiles have been applied.

The system supplies the frames, clad with the galvanised steel mesh, to site ready for the brick slips to be applied.  Due to the design of the panels it is a simple job to apply the tiles and the pointing mortar, usually taking only a couple of hours, and resulting in a brick finish that is totally seamless without any tell-tale bridging tiles showing

If you wish to build a conservatory with dwarf wall, then ours is the only system that will give you truly authentic seamless brick finish that is totally indistinguishable from a real brick wall.

Other advantages of the system are :-

Because it is delivered to site unclad, it is much easier to handle
The frames can be installed onto the base immediately, without the brick finish in place, and the conservatory can then be erected in one continuous action.
Because the frames are watertight without the brick veneers the  brick finish can be applied at a convenient time later.

We feel that the wall system is the best, and very competitively priced.

Check it out, compare it with others, and then telephone or email us to discuss your order.
